Because Sauvignon Blanc is our hero grape here in Marlborough, we often get asked what the best food is to serve with it. This zesty vibrant wine is perfect to pair with fresh bright food (think fresh herbs and white meats) and fish and with bold flavours like
- Asparagus with hollandaise sauce
- Goat’s cheese (a match made in heaven) in salads or with caramelised onions
- Thai food – a green curry or a Thai chicken salad is amazing
- Whitebait patties (very kiwi) or crab cakes – delicious
- Creamy Seafood chowder
- Garlic prawns are superb
- Sushi – the richness of the raw fish with wasabi is fantastic
- Shellfish – think oysters, mussels (especially the green lipped ones from New Zealand) Sauvignon Blanc with its bright acidity will cut through the richness of the shellfish
