What do you eat with Rosé?

We have just had some very good news, Dish Magazine (a top foodie magazine here in New Zealand) just awarded our Rosé first place and 5 Stars in their latest magazine!

They had this to say about the wine:

In our last rose panel, this wine rocked in at number 2 and this year they claimed victory!  How excellent.  ‘Such a a lovely nose and palate,’ commented Cameron.  “It’s juicy fresh, supremely salivating, with a  great acid line and length.” Crafted from pinot noir, its super-pale, fruit saturated and has the prettiest morganite colouring. Elegant yet exhibiting real plate impact.  Yvonne was also wowed by its ballerina-like balance.  “It’s truly stunning and deserves the top spot.”

For us Rosé screams summer, (sorry all our northern hemisphere readers!) its about sitting back, taking a breath. celebrating and having fun.  And how good does it feel to kick off your shoes at the end of a day and relax with a chilled glass of Rose!

The style of our Rosé is dry – think strawberries and raspberries with watermelon overtones and crisp, mouthwatering acidity.

And while we love this wine, you don’t need to take our word for it – read on

Try this delicious salad with a glass or two

Spring Super Salad

INGREDIENTS – Serves 4-6
6 cups young watercress
2 small fennel bulbs
250g hot smoked salmon
2 small oranges, peeled and segmented
150 grams fresh mozzarella
1/2 cup toasted, skinned hazelnuts

Dressing
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
sea salt to taste

METHOD
You don’t really need instructions for this.  Just trim the fennel bulbs and remove the outer layer then slice finely, ideally on a mandoline.
Then just layer the ingredients onto the plate and drizzle with infused oil or dressing.  Perfect with a chilled Rosé!
Optional extras that would work well with the salad include quinoa, broccoli sprouts, asparagus, blanched peas or broad beans.

So as we all count down to Christmas and holidays, we look forward to (hopefully) warm days and long balmy evenings with BBQs friends and family in this part of the world, and those of you in the Northern hemisphere to hunkering down, warm fires and hearty food,  (we get it – the salad is something you can look forward to in a few months!)

Cheers
