Chris Rose

Phil and Chris Rose are founders of Wairau River, directors and ferociously hard workers. Equally likely to be found cleaning the winery floor as making important phone calls, they have been the driving force behind Wairau River since the first grapes went into their block in 1978. Pioneers in Marlborough not least for their determination to plant the first Rapaura vineyard against a staunchly opposed council, they have spent many years marketing their label around the world and somehow found time to bring up five children most of whom are actively involved in Wairau River today.
